Stories that ask: Where are we going?
QUO VADIS
Literary Press
Quo Vadis Press is the independent publishing home of Seraphim George. Dedicated to literature that is haunting, searching, and boundary-crossing, it brings together works of horror, mystery, satire, allegory, and poetry under one imprint.
QUO VADIS LITERARY PRESS
Quo Vadis—Latin for “Where are you going?”—is the question Saint Peter once asked Christ in a vision, when he was escaping the crush of Roman persecution. Christ was heading towards the persecution in Rome in the opposite direction. Christ’s response: “I am going to Rome to be crucified.” This inspired the saint to turn around and face his fears: suffering, death, and the loss of what he can see for what he cannot see.
Founded by novelist, poet, and playwright Seraphim George, Quo Vadis Literary Press exists to house works that are at once unsettling and luminous, ranging from gothic horror to dark comedy, from spiritual allegory to lyric poetry. The imprint is a space for books that do not fit neatly into a single category, yet all share a commitment to craft, depth, and imagination as we walk the road together and learn to question the reality in which we find ourselves.
Through Quo Vadis Literary Press, Seraphim George independently publishes his cross-genre and experimental works, projects that might otherwise remain on the margins, while continuing to pursue traditional publication for his major literary novels. Together, these books form a body of work that is eclectic yet unified, reflecting a vision of literature as both a mirror for oneself and a compass for the greater journey we all must one day take.
